Policy Analyst & Writer (Management Analyst II)
About the role
The Policy Analyst and Writer works under the direction of the Director of Policy and Risk to analyze functions throughout the RMV, identify policy gaps, and develop and document policies. The role involves editing and maintaining policies and procedures across all RMV functional areas, collaborating with business partners to create new documentation, performing periodic content reviews, and securing approvals before publishing and distributing policies internally.
Responsibilities
- Meet with business partners to assess existing policies and procedures, review alignment with business practices, and revise where gaps exist.
- Draft new policies and procedures where none exist, ensuring alignment with practical applications.
- Lead document reviews and obtain appropriate approvals for revisions.
- Maintain consistent template formatting, version control, and terminology across all documentation.
- Assist in updating and maintaining the inventory and repository for all policies, procedures, and related content.
- Develop familiarity with laws and regulations affecting the RMV to ensure policy compliance.
- Evaluate or compare data to provide information to management for problem-solving, planning, and policy formulation.
Requirements
- Three years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) professional experience in work simplification, management analysis, program analysis, methods analysis, economic analysis, fiscal analysis, financial analysis, budget analysis, program administration, or program management.
- Ability to understand and document processes or procedures.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and OneDrive.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a document repository system.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
