Police Specialist - Body Worn Camera Program (part-time)

Duties

  • Perform redactions of Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and subpoena requests.
  • Conduct daily and weekly audits of the BWC system.
  • Work closely with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to ensure all necessary BWC evidence is provided for prosecution while strictly following the rules for sharing with defense attorneys.
  • Perform other work as required.

Requirements

  • Must be a former police officer.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Possess or be eligible for a Virginia driver’s license with no more than six demerit points in the past twelve months or a DUI conviction within the past four years.
  • No conviction of felonies and/or habitual misdemeanors.
  • No conviction of, or guilty pleas or no contest plea to: misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, including petit larceny; any misdemeanor sex offense; or any domestic assault.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
  • Ability to conduct audits and redactions.
  • Strong communication skills.

Pay

This position pays $36.00 per hour.

Schedule

Shift: 28 hours/week; schedule determined by needs of assignment.
