Police Safety Aide Examination
About the Role
This application is for a Civil Service Examination to establish an Eligible List for future Police Safety Aide openings in Cleveland. Successful candidates will be responsible for scheduling and transporting vehicles for maintenance, preparing divisional paperwork, and performing other related duties.
Responsibilities
- Schedules and transports vehicles for maintenance, including preventative maintenance.
- Prepares divisional paperwork as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft programs and good communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Examination Information
The examination may be computerized or a traditional pencil-and-paper test, designed to assess the objectives of the duties and minimum qualifications for the position.
Supplemental Information
Applicants may be eligible for the following credits:
- CMSD Preference Credit: 5 points for graduates of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) who achieve a passing score. Proof of graduation required.
- Residency Credit: 10 points for Cleveland residents who have lived in the city for at least one year at the time of application and achieve a passing score. Proof of residency required, including a signed and notarized Residency Affidavit.
- Veterans’ Preference: 5 points for eligible veterans with an honorable discharge, or 10 points for veterans with more than 15% service-connected disability. Proof of active service (DD Form 214) required.
Pay
$37,446.41 - $42,999.12 per year.
