About the role

The City of Costa Mesa is offering a Police Recruit position with a $10,000 signing bonus upon completion of the academy, FTO, and probationary period. The position involves attending a POST-certified Basic police academy to prepare for the responsibilities of a police officer.

Responsibilities

• Attend a POST-certified Basic police academy
• Graduation from the Police Academy
• Sworn in as a Police Officer
• Salary range of $7,890 - $10,572 monthly

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Class C California Driver’s License
• Pass vision, hearing, and height/weight requirements
• Age 21 or older at the time of graduation from the academy

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States
• Must pass the General Education Development test or other high school equivalency test
• Must pass the POST Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB)
• Must pass the Physical Agility Test (PAT)
• Must pass an oral interview evaluation
