Responsibilities
As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, essential functions may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. - Attend an approved California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) basic police academy to be trained in the technical knowledge, skills, and physical capabilities required to perform police service.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Must be a citizen of the United States at the time of appointment.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License at the time of appointment.
- Must be possess a High School diploma, a G.E.D. certificate, and/or have attained a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited school, college, or university.
- Must be fingerprinted through local, state, and national systems for the disclosure of criminal records.
- Must be of good moral character as determined by a thorough backgrounds investigation, including a polygraph examination.
- Must be willing to work evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
