About the role

The hiring salary range for this position is $19.27 - $22.16.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a lead to staff to include assigning and monitoring work and providing direction
• Prepares, processes, and distributes work orders
• Performs inspections of completed work in assigned area of responsibility
• Maintains materials, inventory, and supplies; authorizes the purchase of materials and supplies within established guidelines
• Aids in developing and monitoring the section budget
• Receives and resolves complaints related to activities in assigned area of responsibility
• Proficiently operates a variety of trucks including light and heavy duty equipment in the construction, maintenance and operation of all City improvements, facilities and other City projects
• Effectively and safely operates construction equipment, including graders, street sweepers, loaders, various trucks and backhoes for Public Works and/or other City departments
• Checks oil, lubricants, water levels, tires, batteries, and other related equipment prior to each use
• Attends all required meetings and training as it applies to this position
• Completes a variety of logs, documents, and/or simple reports regarding quantity of materials handled, equipment operations, miles driven, fuel and oil used, and/or other related information

• Complete forms, work orders, time cards and other in-house procedural and administrative documentation
• Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
