About the role

The University of Connecticut Police Department seeks to hire a Police Officer Trainee.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training programs designed to prepare for law enforcement duties.
• Assist with patrol activities as assigned.
• Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed.
• Engage in community policing initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a police academy program.
• Pass a background check.
• Pass a physical fitness test.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and procedures.

Skills

• Proficiency in computer systems.
• Basic knowledge of firearms and defensive tactics.
• Ability to operate police equipment.
