Minimum Qualifications
- Training & Experience - High school graduate or GED equivalent (college credit is preferred).
- Necessary Special Requirements - Must possess current, valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification by date of hire or be currently enrolled in a law enforcement academy. Out of state applicants must provide proof of current peace officer certification, and must obtain a Colorado POST provisional certification by date of hire. Candidates must successfully challenge the Colorado POST certification within 6 months of hire
- Cannot have been convicted of a felony or a disqualifying misdemeanor involving moral turpitude;
- Possess and maintain valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license and safe driving record for continued employment;
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR certifications.

- The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and with explosives and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Work involves a significant amount of time spent in a patrol vehicle and a high degree of exposure to hazards and danger (from traffic hazards to the danger inherent in working with career criminals and emotionally unstable persons).
- This position also involves shift work including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy.
