About the role

The City of Huntsville’s Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Part-Time Police Officer position. This role involves law enforcement work, including investigation, assistance to citizens, arrest and detention, and related activities.

Responsibilities

• Prevention of crime
• Enforcement of laws and ordinances
• Investigations of a specialized nature
• Aprehension of criminals
• Internal investigations
• Special assignments
• Enforcement of laws, regulations, and ordinances
• Safeguarding employees, public property, and special assignments
• Front desk duty

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• APOSTC certified law enforcement officer who honorably retired in good standing with no pending disciplinary action
• Specific requirements as stipulated by the Alabama Peace Officer Handbook: Training Commission and other legal criteria as required
• Valid Driver's License
