Police Officer 1/2/3 (Part-time)
About the role
At LSU Health Shreveport, we expect only the best. We're looking for a Part-Time Police Officer 1/2/3 to join our University Police Department. The incumbent performs responsible and physically demanding armed police, law enforcement, and protective services duties by patrolling LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health and surrounding properties.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the vehicle patrol officer on a shift.
- Primary liaison with local police patrols and sheriff’s deputies concerning incidents happening on or adjacent LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health property during the shift.
- Conducts DWI and reckless driving traffic enforcement.
- Backs up City Police and Sheriff’s Patrols responding to criminal activity adjacent LSU Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Health property.
Requirements
- No experience or training is required.
- Necessary Special Requirements:
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
- An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
