Responsibilities
- Respond to calls for service
- Enforcing traffic, criminal laws, and local ordinances
- Effecting arrests
- Community policing
- Complete reports as needed
- Handle traffic crashes
- Attend court as needed
- Assist surrounding agencies as needed
- Handle any and all other duties assigned
Requirements
- 21 years of age
- High school graduate (or equivalent)
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Illinois Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card
- No felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6
- Mentally and physically able to perform the tasks of the job
- Able to pass a drug screening
- Must have successfully completed an Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Training course or another program approved for a waiver by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board
Schedule
- Shifts vary from 8, 10, to 12 hours
- Two weekend shifts a month is mandatory
- Weekend coverage is needed
Pay
Starting: $22.00/hour. After 120 Days: $26.00/hour.
