Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service
• Enforcing traffic, criminal laws, and local ordinances
• Effecting arrests
• Community policing
• Complete reports as needed

• Assist surrounding agencies as needed

Requirements

• 21 years of age
• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Illinois Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card
• No felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6
• Mentally and physically able to perform the tasks of the job
• Able to pass a drug screening
• Must have successfully completed an Illinois Basic Law Enforcement Training course or another program approved for a waiver by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board

Schedule

• Shifts vary from 8, 10, to 12 hours
• Two weekend shifts a month is mandatory
• Weekend coverage is needed

Pay

Starting: $22.00/hour. After 120 Days: $26.00/hour.
