The position offers up to $25,000 bonus and $5,000 moving expenses based on years of experience.

• Monthly salary ranges from $7,838.76 to $9,895.18.
• Annual salary ranges from $94,065.08 to $118,742.21.
• Paid time off includes 96-200 hours of paid vacation per year, 130 or 156 hours of paid leave per year in lieu of holidays, and 96 hours of paid sick leave per year.
• Health insurance covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and 90% for dependents.

  Responsibilities

  Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing public safety services, including answering questions, making referrals, and solving community problems.
  • Responding to calls for service and taking appropriate actions.
  • Managing ongoing cases through thorough documentation and follow-up investigations.
  • Interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects and documenting their statements.
  • Enforcing laws, ordinances, and court decisions.
  • Apprehending offenders and conducting physical arrests.
  • Patrolling the city using preventive and directed patrol methods.
  • Carrying and utilizing various firearms and less-lethal launchers.
  • Operating assigned vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Carrying out community policing initiatives and providing public speaking engagements.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as creating accurate case reports and logs.

    Qualifications

    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 45 quarter or 30 semester college credits towards a relevant college degree preferred.
    • Experience: No previous law enforcement experience required for entry level, or currently attending the Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA) for advanced entry level.
    • Lateral candidates must have completed the BLEA and FTO of a city, county, state, or federal law enforcement agency.
    • Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Relevant knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, codes, regulations, and policies; ability to operate personal computers and specialized systems; typing 35 words per minute; effective verbal and written communication; ability to handle stressful situations; and ability to carry and use firearms.
