About the role
The Emeryville Police Department seeks to hire a Police Officer to serve the Emeryville Community. Located at the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, Emeryville is centrally located and accessible, serving as a gateway to major northern California cities, businesses, and universities.
Responsibilities
- Answer and respond to calls for service
- Protect life and property
- Maintain order in designated areas during shifts
- Prevent and investigate crimes
- Participate in patrols on foot, bicycle, motorcycle, or by patrol car
- Perform crime prevention and community relations activities
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien eligible for citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent with related college work
- At least 21 years old by the appointment date
- Valid California Class C Driver’s license
- Unrestricted vision and normal color vision and hearing
- Free of felony convictions; no misdemeanor convictions mandating weapons restrictions
- Successfully completed a POST approved Law Enforcement Academy within the last three years or have qualifying service time

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $76,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Police Officers participate in 4/10 and 3/12 work-week schedules and must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
