About the role
The EMS Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring a comprehensive, countywide EMS quality improvement program. Additionally, the position involves developing, implementing, and overseeing a standardized countywide fire/EMS training consortium.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and monitor a comprehensive, countywide EMS quality improvement program.
- Develop, implement, and oversee a standardized countywide fire/EMS training consortium.
- Perform other related work as required.
Requirements
- Licenses Required: Valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License; possession of a valid State of California license as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience or its equivalent as a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse in an emergency department of a base hospital or substantial equivalent.
- Substitution: Valid licensure as a Paramedic in the state of California and five years of full-time experience or its equivalent as a Paramedic may be substituted for the Registered Nurse license and required experience.
Qualifications for Restricted Positions
Positions with primary responsibility for quality improvement activities may be restricted to registered nurses only.
Other Requirements
- Prior to employment, a background investigation will be conducted.
- Fingerprints will be taken.
Selection Process
- Application Filing: A completed Contra Costa County application and supplemental must be received or postmarked by the final filing date listed below.
- Oral Interview (weighted 100%): The examination will consist of an oral interview conducted by a Qualification Appraisal Board in Martinez, California.
