Responsibilities

• Patrol hospital campus, check property, and conduct room searches.
• Maintain order and public safety.
• Issue traffic and parking citations.
• Apprehend, question, and arrest suspects.
• Collect and preserve evidence and conduct investigations.
• Respond to and assist in all medical emergencies.
• Assist in conducting fire drills and evacuating buildings.
• Provide security escorts for personnel.
• Chauffeur division heads and visitors as requested.
• Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars; maintain required proficiency with firearms.
• Perform other duties as required to meet the client’s needs.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• Active (non‑retired) police officer.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Police ID, VPEC, and firearm certification.
• North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement certification.
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• Ability to attend periodic training sessions and maintain firearm proficiency.
• Ability to work in various environments (cold weather, rain/snow, heat).
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Occasionally climb stairs, ramps, or ladders during shift.
• Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time.

Pay

$37.50 per hour.

Benefits

• $2,000 hiring bonus for officers who successfully complete all contractual requirements and secure an active position.
• $2,000 bonus on the first anniversary of employment.
• $4,000 annual bonus beginning with the second anniversary and each year thereafter.

Schedule

Full‑time, part‑time, weekend‑only, and on‑call work available.
