Protect. Serve. Make a Difference. The City of Marinette Police Department is accepting applications to establish an Eligibility List for future Police Officer vacancies. We are seeking motivated, ethical, and community-focused individuals who are dedicated to protecting and serving our community. Responsibilities

  • Patrolling neighborhoods, businesses, and public areas
  • Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Preventing, detecting, and investigating criminal activity
  • Enforcing Wisconsin laws and City ordinances
  • Conducting traffic enforcement and crash investigations
  • Interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects
  • Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Collecting and preserving evidence
  • Making arrests and transporting prisoners when necessary
  • Testifying in Municipal and Circuit Court
  • Participating in community outreach and crime prevention programs
  • Assisting during emergencies and special events

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess an Associate Degree or a minimum of 60 accredited semester credits (90 quarter credits)
  • Be certified or certifiable through the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board
  • Possess current CPR/First Aid certification at the time of hire
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Successfully complete all required background investigations and hiring requirements

Residency: Applicant shall maintain a bona fide residence within a thirty (30) mile radius of the jurisdictional boundary of the City of Marinette within six (6) months of hire.

Pay

$32.97 - $36.52 per hour. (Lateral entry candidates may be eligible for prior service credit in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement).
