About the role

Works under the general supervision of the Chief of Police and the direct supervision of a Patrol Sergeant. Responsible for enforcement of traffic, criminal laws, and parking regulations. This position is governed by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training and UAMS policies.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce traffic, criminal laws, and parking regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Arkansas Driver’s license
  • At least two years of law enforcement experience
  • Certified by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training as a Police Officer and possess a General Certificate
  • Ability to walk a minimum of 8 to 12 miles in a 12-hour shift
  • Ability to climb stairwells
