About the Program
The Cadet Program is aimed to provide opportunities in law enforcement for recent High School graduates and individuals who are not yet eligible to sit in the academy. Participants complete 20 hours of school while working 20 hours a week at the WSPD. The cost of education is covered by the WSPD and individuals are compensated for the employment portion.
Responsibilities
- Complete 20 hours of school per week
- Work 20 hours per week at the WSPD
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA
- Pass a background check and initial eligibility testing
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Register as a full-time Criminal Justice Student at an approved community college
- Pass a criminal and traffic convictions check

Pay
Compensation for employment portion while completing school.
