ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Determines necessary permits, coordinates with internal and external resources and permitting entities to release passes to construction.
- Coincides permitting activities based on direction from OSP Construction.
- Daily routine interaction with various agencies to obtain approvals, submit permit applications and prepare responses in a timely manner.
- Routine interaction with internal departments to build relationships, build business cohesion and help internal clients to expand Metronet services in the market.
- Manages work within defined scheduled expectations, removes roadblocks and uses analytics to anticipate and avoid future roadblocks and keeps projects on schedule.
- Affords technical and creative solutions to aid in completion of permitting acquisitions.
- Forecasts release dates to allow construction to plan resources accordingly.
- Provides guidance with internal resources to assure pole applications are submitted in order and on time to meet the project schedule.
- Ensures timely completion of assigned deliverables, assembles, submits, and tracks progress of permit applications and notifies management of delays with actionable solutions.
- Documents and coordinates with centralized permit teams to ensure permit submittals is in line with the field’s construction schedule.
- Maintains monitoring and tracking of permit packages via online systems, email, or in person as necessary to meet local requirements, adjusts and reports when situations arise.
- Maintains communication of the status of each permit.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience with permitting in multiple states is preferred.
- Experience working in multidiscipline and cross-functional teams is preferred.
- Able to work within a team, leading multiple personalities and driving projects to conclusion.
- Organization and strong problem-solving aptitude are required.
- Able to interact with all levels of organization including external agencies.
- Strong social, verbal, and written communications skills are required.
- Must be able to work independently, and with a team.
