Responsibilities
- Maintains day-to-day operations of the Poker Room, ensuring compliance with regulatory and departmental policies.
- Monitors and controls patron relations to achieve a cost-effective and profitable Poker Room operation.
- Safeguards Casino assets and ensures the integrity of gaming tables.
- Oversees the creation of player accounts and player ratings.
- Supervises the Poker Room Shift Managers and coordinates with non-supervisory employees.
- Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates Team Members.
- Manages the security of the Poker Room, detecting and addressing cheating, fraud, and disruptions.
- Develops and implements marketing promotions, including prize giveaways, jackpots, tournaments, and new product/game recommendations.
- Manages the House Promotional Fund (HPF) and monitors promotional spend.
- Ensures compliance with Poker Tournament Directors Association (TDA) rules and regulations.
- Trains and develops staff members in the Poker Room.
- Recruits and trains Tribal Members, adhering to community and Indian preference guidelines.
- Enforces all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X.
- Manages the enforcement of regulations related to suspicious activity.
- Manages the annual forecasting and budgeting process for the Poker Room.
- Establishes and implements Poker Room policies, procedures, manuals, and job descriptions.
- Acts as a liaison between various departments within the Casino.
- Improves operations through streamlining activities and promoting efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 10 years gaming (including Poker Room) experience.
- 5 years of management experience in a high-volume casino Poker Room operation.
- Good PC skills and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
- Knowledge of tournament experience and strong people management and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving techniques and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate others and handle multiple functions simultaneously.
- Knowledgeable about promotions, advertising, marketing programs, and public relations.
- Strong understanding of the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X.
