Lead the front office and housekeeping departments to ensure a memorable guest experience while meeting departmental revenue and profit goals, adhering to safety, compliance, and local policies.

Responsibilities

  • Direct everyday activity, plan and assign work, and ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Develop and coach your team, set performance and development goals, and recognize good performance.
  • Train colleagues to meet hotel revenue goals and provide them with necessary tools.
  • Recommend or initiate HR-related actions as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative working environment and connect departments to create a sense of unity.
  • Interact with guests, vendors, and other external contacts to enhance operations and revenue.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and contacts to increase revenue.
  • Oversee night audit functions and prepare daily financial reports.
  • Prepare and submit statistical, performance, and forecast analyses as required.
  • Maintain procedures for security of monies, credit and financial transactions, guest security, and inventory control.
  • Use company systems to maximize revenue and develop plans to increase occupancy and ADR through walk-ins and upselling.
  • Hit personal and team sales goals to maximize profitability.
  • Assist in preparing the departmental budget and financial plans, including the hotel marketing plan.
  • Provide guests with information on loyalty programs, local attractions, and hotel facilities to enhance their experience.
  • Schedule conventions and business group activities, coordinating with other departments to facilitate agreed-upon services.
  • Communicate special needs and requirements for arriving VIPs, large groups, and key guests to appropriate departments.
  • Lead marketing efforts to upsell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.
  • Ensure front office staff provides prompt, professional, and personalized service to guests.
  • Greet guests upon arrival, interact effectively, and respond to complaints to drive continuous improvements in guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the front office and public areas, taking immediate action to correct deficiencies.
  • Analyze guest satisfaction data and implement plans to achieve established goals.
  • Communicate pertinent information related to VIP and key guest arrivals/departures or special needs.
  • Work closely with local business leaders and community groups to ensure high-profile exposure for the hotel.
  • Promote the hotel’s sustainable or “green” initiatives to gain new business opportunities.
  • Act as a central communications point during emergency or crisis situations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local emergency personnel.
  • Promote team member involvement in community outreach efforts to build the hotel’s reputation.
  • Work with advertising agencies and vendors to maximize advertising investments and ensure brand alignment.
  • Raise awareness of the hotel and brand locally, occasionally representing the hotel for media inquiries.
  • Identify improvements to marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance.
  • Regularly audit financial transactions to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and data privacy requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including serving as manager on duty for unexpected tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Four years of guest service or hotel experience, with at least two years in a management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must speak the local language(s); other languages are preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $125,000, with eligibility for bonus pay.
