Poker Dealer - Poker Operations

Responsibilities

• Deals cards to players and shuffles as appropriate according to established rules and regulations.
• Announces winning hand to players.
• Ensures that correct "rake" are taken from the winning pot.
• Verifies beginning and ending chip and money balances and confirms supporting documentation.
• Receives fills and distributes credits.
• Makes sure wagers are placed before cards are dealt.
• Maintains order and resolves disputes, problems or concerns with patrons or the game's progress.
• Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
• Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior guest service, poker experience and/or poker certificate required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Virginia Lottery license.
• Must successfully pass background check.
• Must successfully pass drug screening.
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
• Knowledge of Hard Rock operations and policies and procedures.
• Ability to identify various cheating techniques.
• Effective presentation and response to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
• Flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
• Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
• Ability to present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance.
