About the role
The position involves utilizing clinical and communication skills to handle exposures, provide poison information, formulate care plans, and communicate with healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities
- Obtain detailed histories of exposures, including patient conditions and circumstances.
- Accurately assess each exposure case using various resources like databases, textbooks, and consultations.
- Develop and implement appropriate care plans based on guidelines, patient specifics, and professional judgment.
- Communicate patient information and treatment recommendations to appropriate facilities.
- Evaluate and document assessments and recommendations on case records.
- Provide non-toxicological drug and medical information to callers.
- Offer initial crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate community agencies.
- Assist in patient evaluations and treatments in the Emergency Department as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing, pharmacy, or medical school.
- Registered nurse, pharmacist, physician's assistant, or physician (MD or DO).
- Two years of clinical experience preferred.
- Applicable state license to practice.
- BLS certification.
- Certification as a Certified Specialist in Poison Information from the American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and keyboard skills.

- Education in nursing, pharmacy, or medicine.
- Experience in handling toxicology cases.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
Base compensation listed within the pay range based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Additional premium pay and incentive opportunities are available.
Schedule
Part-time, 24 hours per week, including every other weekend.
