About the role

Performs, demonstrates proficiency, and understands Point of Care testing as it relates to patient care. Develops relationships with all nursing areas to promote and monitor testing. Assists in instructing testing personnel in all patient care areas. Performs teaching with a perceptive depth of clinical laboratory tests and procedures. Ensures the highest quality of care is maintained at all times for bedside testing. Has thorough knowledge of all CAP, JCAHO, and CLIA regulations as they pertain to Point of Care. With input from the Laboratory staff and management, develops and maintains the Performance Improvement program for the Laboratory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • ASCP registration
  • 3 years as MT and/or 2 years supervisor in lab setting
  • Ability to listen, interact, and communicate verbally and in writing
