Podiatry Advanced Care Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Responsibilities
- Maintains and enhances professional growth and development. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable current medical literature.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings.
- Participates in clinical education of healthcare students as seen fit by the supervising medical staff.
- Involvement in clinical coordination, quality, and process improvement efforts which may encompass protocol development, strategic planning, and other administrative tasks as necessary to support practice environment.
- Monitors and evaluates the medical condition of patients in collaboration with the physician and with other disciplines to meet standards of care or by applying appropriate protocols, and makes decisions regarding treatment.
- Determines and assesses the health status of patients by reviewing records, taking comprehensive medical histories, and performing physical examinations.
- Orders and administers appropriate medications within the limits of the appropriate statutory restrictions.
- Initiates, performs or directs other healthcare professionals to perform screenings and diagnostic tests.
- Completes required documentation legibly, thoroughly, and in a timely manner. Prepares and maintains complete and accurate charts, case files and records.
- Precepts APP students by following Denver Health guidelines for trainees.
- Ensures an environment of safe quality care and continual quality improvement.
- Provides specialty care to patients, examining and diagnosing patients and developing treatment plans.
- Performs diagnostic testing, referral as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols and available equipment.
- Refers patient to other services as appropriate.
Requirements
- Master's Degree Required (NP or PA)
- 1-3 years experience preferred.
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required and
- APN - Advanced Nurse Practitioner - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required or
- PA-Physician Assistant - State Medical Board Required
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical and nursing principals, procedures, and community resources.
- Skill in eliciting history from patients, performing physical exams and formulating assessments of and treatment plans for patients.
- Knowledge of appropriate administration and prescription of medications.
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment.
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other departments and the public.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent work with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation. Epic preferred.
- Microsoft Office products.

$134,000.00 - $152,700.00 / yr (Pay range listed is for 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE). See Work Type for actual FTE)
