About the role
Balance Health, majority owned by its podiatrists, is a comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice. We provide operational support to leading podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists to help them focus on growing their business and delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases
- Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
- Perform procedures as necessary along with wound care management
- Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results
- Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery
- Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems
- Provide education/consultation to patients, family, and health care team
- Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
- Appropriately maintain medical records on assigned patients
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an Accredited School of Podiatry
- Board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with diverse patient, colleague, and vendor populations
- PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and EMR database
- Ability to provide legal proof of eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation, including clean DMV report and pre-employment drug screen
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit and/or stand for several hours at a time
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information
- Ability to provide legal proof of eligibility to work in the United States and/or U.S. citizenship must be provided if offered employment
Compensation / Benefits
- Competitive physician salary program with a base (typical range of $150K - $500 + % of net collections) plan depending on experience level
