About the role
A practical experiences in teaching beginner to intermediate level adult pianists and observations of children’s private lessons and group classes in the University of Toronto Piano Pedagogy Program.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate practicum placement of students in community piano program.
- Monitor and mentor student teaching.
- Deliver instruction on topics in piano pedagogy.
- Prepare and submit final grades in accordance with policy.
- Maintain reasonable hours of student consultation outside scheduled class hours.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in piano performance and pedagogy.
- Extensive experience teaching private and group piano lessons to children and adults at the beginner to intermediate levels.
- Extensive experience with administration of a community piano program.
- Extensive adjudication experience of examinations and/or festivals.
- Teacher training experience preferred.
