Opportunity at a Glance

• Contributes to Walden University’s mission by educating students through online technology and resources.
• Teaches courses using Canvas and interacts with students through discussion boards.
• Ensures timely and constructive feedback and grading of student work.
• May attend residencies for teaching intensives and colloquia.

Responsibilities

Training

• Specific training from Walden University in teaching techniques, electronic learning platform use, degree program specifics, Walden University culture, academic integrity, and thesis/dissertation supervision.

Course Teaching

• Assigned a course to teach using Canvas.
• Interacts with students through discussion boards open 24/7.
• Posts responses to student questions within 48 hours.
• Verifies and provides feedback and grades on student assignments and submissions.
• Grades assignments within 7 days of the due date.

Availability

• Expected to be reasonably accessible to students outside the course discussion board.
• Publishes availability through course syllabi, instructor information, and other appropriate documents.
• Suggests regular and predictable availability, such as online office hours or regular online chats.

Residencies

• May be required to attend residencies held domestically or internationally.
• Teaches intensives and facilitates school and university-wide discussions.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in the field of study or closely related field (or recognized by a country’s Ministry of Education or Council of Higher Education).
• Active, unencumbered PMHNP certification.
• MN RN and APRN licenses, or willingness to obtain these licenses as a condition of employment.
• One year of clinical practice as a PMHNP.

Additional Information

Pay Range

• Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course.
• Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course.
