Responsibilities
- Gathers and rinses dirty dishware, stacks in dishracks, and prepares for automated washing.
- Operates and loads automatic dishwashing machines, ensuring proper detergent and chemical regulation.
- Unloads and inspects clean dishes, stacking them in designated carts and shelves.
- Manually scrubs pots, pans, and kitchen equipment, drying and storing them appropriately.
- Polishes silver, stainless steel, and pewter, maintaining their cleanliness and attractiveness.
- Maintains dishwashing equipment in good condition, following manufacturer's instructions.
- Sweeps, mops, empties trash, wipes counters, and organizes shelves in the dish room.
- Cleans kitchen floors, work surfaces, and equipment, including walls, ceilings, hoods, vents, and ovens.
- Gathers and empties trash cans from kitchen work areas and loading docks.
- Sweeps loading dock and kitchen entrance areas, clearing litter and debris.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested by management.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of dishwashing.
- Ability to see, read meters and controls, bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach, and retrieve items from above head.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs., including serving trays, carts, tables, chairs, and small equipment up to 75% of the time.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, walk, lift, and carry throughout the shift.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively, and pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations.
- Ability to handle breakage to a minimum by handling china, glassware, and fragile equipment with care.
