PM Shipping/Receiving Crew

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Palletize and organize loads for shipment using correct stacking order.
• Ensure accuracy of each pallet and entire load.
• Prepare and complete all necessary paperwork including bills of lading and invoices.
• Ensure trucks are loaded in correct order for LTL transit, first stop loaded last, etc.
• Responsible for large quantities of product. Must be always honest and ethical to avoid unnecessary losses.
• Aid in weekly, monthly, and year-end inventories and maintain accurate counts.
• Rotates to related duties within the Shipping department.
• Keep warehouse area clean and well organized.
• Uses wireless handheld scanner for accurate inventory reporting and recordkeeping.
• Follows procedures outlined by Department Supervisor/Department Lead.
• Fulfills Daily’s attendance and punctuality rules.
• Follows Daily’s Good Manufacturing Processes.
• Follows Daily’s Safety Guidelines as outlined in Safety Handbook.
• Performs other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Daily’s business objectives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Must be computer literate and able to learn new computer programs quickly.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Knowledge of proper and common procedures for loading trucks.
• Advanced skills with forklifts and electric pallet jacks preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English is vital to allow communication with drivers, customers, and shipping companies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills including ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Capability of working with and calculating percentages.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift and carry at least up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Standing and walking for up to 10 hours a day on concrete and wet surfaces.
• Exposure to noise above 85 dB (hearing protection required).
• Must be able to work in cold temperatures for extended periods of time, including in freezers and coolers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Temperature variations - average of 40 degrees.

WORK SCHEDULE

• The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
• Must be able and willing to work varying hours and overtime due to operational requirements.
