PM Shift Supervisor for Senior Living - 2nd Shift

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic 2nd Shift Supervisor to join our team in West Bloomfield. This role is central to creating an exceptional living experience for our cherished residents. You will train and mentor caregivers while directly caring for residents, cultivating essential life skills such as patience, teaching, empathy, and communication. Every day, you will positively impact the lives of both staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise resident aides, train new staff, and ensure duties are performed correctly by all staff
• Review shift supervisor checklists
• Cover open shifts as needed, including call-offs, and keep the on-call phone
• Follow up on issues, review 24-hour logs, and take corrective actions for med errors, absences, etc.
• Assess any care complaints
• Review payroll for missed punches, missed lunches, etc., and follow up
• Enter shift pick-ups and shift trades
• Create schedules for staff and prepare shift assignments
• Assist with resident care needs: dressing, grooming, bathing, incontinence care, etc.
• Assist with meal preparation
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Follow all emergency procedures and comply with safety and health standards, including infection control
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience supervising and training caregiving staff
• Caring and compassion for the elderly
• Ability to arrive on time to each shift
