Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in planning, executing, and closing projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, and other project documentation; coordinate responses and approvals
- Maintain and update project schedules, identify critical path items, and communicate schedule impacts to stakeholders
- Cook up and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to facilitate on-time work and resolve site issues
- Use Bluebeam and other document management tools to review drawings, markup documents, and maintain accurate records
- Aid with cost control activities including tracking budgets, change orders, purchase orders, and invoicing support
- Prepare regular project reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates for internal and client distribution
- Support quality control and safety compliance by monitoring on-site activities and ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards
- Contribute to project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, and turnover packages
- Act as a point of contact for routine client and stakeholder communications, escalating issues to the Project Manager when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Associate Project Manager, APM, or similar role (construction industry experience preferred)
- Familiarity with commercial and retail construction projects and their unique scheduling and coordination needs
- Proven experience managing RFIs and submittals through the project lifecycle
- Proficiency with Bluebeam and common project tools (scheduling software, MS Office); experience with scheduling and document control preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, track details, and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Basic understanding of construction cost tracking, change order processes, and contract documentation
- Relevant degree or certification (Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related) or equivalent on-the-job experience
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
