Responsibilities
- Provides support on HVAC construction job by reading and interpreting blueprints as needed by foreman to ensure a timely and quality completion of the project.
- Lays out roof penetrations and ducting; lays out sheet metal fittings as directed by the foreman.
- Provides assistance to the Construction foreman as needed on the job.
- Coordinates and follows job schedules; i.e., labor hours, and material costs.
- Wires installations, understands refrigeration systems and piping, reads blueprints on refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing, hangs evaporation coils, installs overhead hangers, uses hand and power tools, and demonstrates mechanical skills.
- Ensures safe work practices and compliance with safety rules.
- Works with minimal supervision.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes.
- License as a Journeyman to meet state requirements.
- 3+ years' experience in the construction industry, and hands-on field experience in commercial HVAC construction and major market remodeling.
- Knowledge of UMC/SMACNA requirements, commercial HVAC construction products and tools, refrigeration equipment, blueprints, detailing HVAC duct fittings.
- Good driving record, valid driver’s license, ability to grease duct weld, complete minor electrical installation, complete sheet metal layouts and fabrications, and demonstrate mechanical skills.
- Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures, and applicable State and Federal laws.
- Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly walks and stands for long periods, hears, drives, sits, bends, kneels, stoops, crouches, crawls, climbs, uses hands and fingers, lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment includes convenience stores, grocery stores, food service, construction environments, mechanical rooms with elevated noise levels, and exposure to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations.
- Physical Demands involve excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
