Plumbing Apprenticeship - Greenwich

About the role

Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technicians plan, install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems. Plumbing and domestic heating technicians can find themselves working inside or outside a property. Over the course of the apprenticeship, the learner will be trained to work independently and without immediate supervision in an efficient and safe manner. They can set out jobs from drawings and specifications and identify the necessary installation materials. Finally, they will be working towards industry standards and continuously showcasing positive H&S practices.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure, cut, bend, and connect metallic and plastic pipework
• 1st and 2nd fix plumbing systems
• Working on a range of equipment and appliances including water pumps, air conditioning units, thermostats, pressure relief valves
• Waste, soil stacks, and rainwater pipework
• Commissioning and decommissioning equipment and appliances
• Regular manual handling of loads up to 25 kg
• Working outdoors and on uneven terrain

Requirements

• English and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 1 or above
• Completed a Level 2 Plumbing Studies Diploma
• Passion and commitment to become a fully qualified plumber
• Previous related work experience (advantageous)
• CSCS/JIB Card (advantageous)
• Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status
• Not enrolled on any other courses
• Aged 18+ (due to site H&S rules)
• Living in the London Borough of Greenwich

Qualifications

• K10 will enrol you to the Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating course and fund your qualifications through an ESFA‑funded training provider
• Apprenticeship duration: 48 months (dependant on previous qualifications)
