Plumbing Apprentices & Journeypersons (Travel Position)

Plumbing Apprentice

• Duties: Move/haul material, pull water lines, fire caulking, thread pipe and assist with any other tasks required.
• Second Year Apprentices: Independently thread pipe, install laundry boxes, with supervision: begin drainage, soldering, assembling tub valves and assist with any other tasks required.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as required.

Plumbing Journeyperson

• Duties: Work under the direction of the assigned Site Foreman, manage tasks, plan and organize materials, locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures, measure, cut, thread, bend, clamp, solvent cement or solder pipe, assemble and install valves and fittings, install sanitary and water piping system, read building plans and specifications, implement quality, safety and internal policies, mentor/train crew members, perform other duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

• Mechanical aptitude
• Strength, stamina, and proper lifting techniques for handling heavy tools and parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and do some moderately heavy lifting and carrying.
• Ability to work in high, awkward, and noisy places.
• The ability to work alone or with others.
• Strong communication skills.

Requirements

• Steel toed footwear.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License or access to transportation.
• Wage to be determined based on school level and experience and will be discussed during the interview.
