Position Highlights

  • Pay: $23.17+ per hour
  • Contract Type: 1-year contract
  • Schedule: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded
  • Location: 215 Perry Hill Road Montgomery, AL 361092400 Hospital Road Tuskegee, AL 36083

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship
  • 3+ years of professional plumbing experience and knowledge in the construction field
  • OSHA 30-hour construction certification
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Work at heights and climb ladders
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Work in high temperatures
  • Work in a noisy environment
  • Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes
  • Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA-approved respirator and proper fit tested
  • Standing and bending for long periods of time
  • Previous experience with the VA is a plus

What a Typical Day Looks Like

You Will 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded.
Test joints and piping for leaks.
Install and repair valves.
Inspect and test piping after completing repairs, alterations, or additions.
Periodically check piping, fittings, and fixtures for defective parts or connections.
Disassemble, repair damaged sections, or fabricate replacements.
Experience fixing and repairing toilets and sinks.
Use hand and power tools common to the trade.
