Plumber Technician

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Establish a thorough understanding of requirements of International Plumbing Codes and UFC.
  • Attend all meetings to discuss related features of work to ensure project success at every level.
  • Perform BCOES and plan in hand reviews with teammates by applying lessons learned from experience.
  • Schedule and conduct plumbing systems inspections of the different facilities and surveys of facilities (including pre-construction, during construction, and post construction) to identify potential fire risks.
  • Conduct inspections in compliance with approved documentation on all assigned projects.
  • Evaluate work practices, procedures, and physical conditions to determine compliance with accepted plumbing codes and contract requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports concerning plumbing features of work including corrective action to be taken to correct deficient conditions.
  • Provide guidance and recommend changes to work practices and procedures, facility design, construction features, and plumbing features of work.
  • Schedule and conduct final acceptance tests of newly installed plumbing systems.
  • Review submittals to provide constructive comments, achieving acceptable documentation of planned installation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in plumbing preferred.
  • Valid Plumbing License required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in plumbing installation, inspection, testing, or construction oversight.
  • Thorough knowledge of International Plumbing Code (IPC), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and applicable plumbing standards.
  • Experience reviewing construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience conducting inspections, acceptance testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems.
  • Experience supporting federal, Department of Defense (DoD), USACE, or military construction projects preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare, administrative, warehouse, barracks, or other large institutional facilities preferred.
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Strong communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

Pay

Salary is based on experience and will be discussed with the manager in the interview.
