PLUMBER II (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)
About the role
The Plumber II (Correctional Facility) position is a full-time, permanent role located in Fresno County. This position is part of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and involves maintaining and repairing plumbing systems within correctional facilities.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires each full-time employee to receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries listed do not reflect this recent change.
Responsibilities
Detailed responsibilities are outlined in the attached duty statement. Incumbents will perform plumbing maintenance and repairs in a correctional facility environment.
Requirements
Minimum requirements for this position are detailed in the Class Specification. Candidates must meet these qualifications to be considered.
- Possession of qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
- If meeting qualifications through education, unofficial transcripts/diploma must be provided for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
- Candidates with foreign degrees/transcripts must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency.
Special Requirements
- Do not include confidential information (e.g., Social Security Number, birthdate) on application documents.
- New hires must submit to a background investigation using Live Scan Fingerprinting and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, with annual testing thereafter.

Pay
$6,291.00 - $7,547.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
