PLUMBER II (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)
About the role
This is a Limited Term appointment for 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months or conversion to permanent status. Newly hired State employees may be placed at the minimum of the salary range. Based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase every 12 months until reaching the maximum salary for the position. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% and 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
Responsibilities
- Repair and provide preventive maintenance to plumbing systems and fixtures throughout Folsom State Prison
Working Conditions
Folsom State Prison is located approximately 30 miles east of downtown Sacramento and just minutes from Old Town Folsom. The grounds are surrounded by landscaping and wildlife such as deer, squirrels, turkeys, and geese. Free parking is available.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess a Certificate of Apprenticeship Completion. Candidates will be required to provide a copy of the certificate prior to hire.
Special Requirements
- Applicants must submit a background investigation via Live Scan Fingerprinting and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by annual TB testing thereafter
- Applicants must provide verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency if education was completed outside the U.S.
- CDCR/CCHCS utilizes E-Verify to confirm identity and employment authorization
