Plumber II
About the role
Perform duties to diagnose, rebuild and install any range of pumping and associated piping systems as part of the process of rebuilding large, custom, special purpose vehicles of any description, where work is unusual and difficult and only general methods are available.
Responsibilities
- Work from shop orders, manuals, prints and instructions.
- Review shop orders to determine requirements. Disassemble pumps and valves, diagnose problems, determine extent of repairs, parts and materials required and rebuild and repair any range of pumps and valves to suit vehicle requirements.
- Install new and rebuild existing valves, foam systems, gauges, control lines, hand controls and similar components. Plumb to existing control panel or layout new panels to accommodate controls and systems in any range of company or competitor vehicle, where positioning, mounting and installation procedures differ based vehicle and component configurations and available space.
- Test pumps and related systems to check for leaks and proper operation. Make required repairs and adjustments. Able to do a pump performance tests and all foam testing on trucks.
- Make any required visual checks of component placement, alignment and security. Complete any required documentation. Monitor the availability of assembly parts and supplies stored in work area and notify supervisor of the need to replenish stock.
- Responsible for setting up and checking the work of others, assisting and instructing them and directing and maintaining the flow of their work.
- Able to help/assist service and warranty with field problems and willing to go into the field if need be.
- Retrofit or modify product to meet engineering and/or customer changes.
- Set up prescribed tests to check the operation of electrical components, including lights, sirens, radios, and warning systems. Diagnose problems, locate source of trouble, rewire or replace units as required. Be able to trace wires, examine connections, and replace wiring and/or connectors. Test operation and reassemble repaired units.
- Set up, change over, and operate the complete range of equipment and machine tools in the assigned area. This may include CNC equipment and machines.
- Capable of performing scrubs of print packages, BOM’s, and shop orders; correct discrepancies.
- Be a technical advisor to the supervisor and assist with planning of daily activities and accomplishing weekly/daily commitments.
- EVT qualification and AC Certification required. CDL not required however appreciated.
- Absorb and apply new information and technology to improve the efficiency of the work being performed.
Requirements
- High school graduate or General Education Diploma.
- Must have the experience, knowledge and ability to run diagnostics, programming and make repairs to electrical systems on ALL E-ONE vehicles.
- Mechanical: Must be able to detect and make necessary repairs to parts and components of the vehicle when required.

Skills
- Electrical: Experience running diagnostics, programming and making repairs to electrical systems on ALL E-ONE vehicles.

- Math and blueprint reading skills.
- Must be able to read tape measure.
- Computer and E-ONE Operating systems.

Pay
The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in New York is $16.50 - $26.00 per hour. This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role. The base pay offered for the role may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Schedule
Available schedules: - Monday - Thursday from 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, plus Optional Overtime on Friday and Saturday - Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, plus Optional Overtime on Friday and Saturday
