About the role

The State of Hawaii is recruiting for skilled plumbing positions located in the Halawa to Kalihi area, serving the Department of Transportation - Harbors, Department of Human Services, and Department of Accounting & General Services. This recruitment will establish a list of qualified candidates to fill current and future vacancies.

Responsibilities

Performs skilled plumbing work in the repair, maintenance, and installation of plumbing systems and equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment).
• Possess a valid State of Hawaii Journey Worker Plumber License or Master Plumber License at time of application (no reciprocity with other jurisdictions).
• Some positions require a valid driver's license at time of appointment; the immediate vacancy has this requirement.
• Ability to lift and carry items of various weights, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• For positions requiring unescorted access to secured harbor areas, must obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) clearance, which includes a fingerprint‑based criminal history records check. Applicants must have no disqualifying convictions within the past seven years; the cost of the check is the applicant’s responsibility but will be reimbursed upon hire upon submission of the TWIC receipt.
