Position Summary
The Plumber lays out, plans, installs, and repairs piping (DWV piping, chilled water, domestic water, steam and condensate), plumbing fixtures, and related plumbing equipment according to specifications and Illinois plumbing codes. They study blueprints to determine pipe types and sizes, cut pipes along layout markings, fit and/or weld, solder, seal, valves, and other piping components. They perform pressure testing on piping systems for leaks and repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years vocational or apprenticeship training
- 4 years commercial or institutional work experience to acquire expertise in performing variety of plumbing work
Preferred Qualifications
- CCC/DI Certification
- Valid State of Illinois Plumber’s License
- Current Driver’s License

Pay
Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. The expected pay range for this position is $29.01 - $34.13 per hour.
