About the Role

The Plumbing Foreman oversees field installation activities for plumbing systems on industrial and commercial construction projects. This role emphasizes productivity, quality, safety, and team leadership. The foreman works closely with project and division managers to ensure timely and compliant installations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead work crews in the plumbing trade.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Monitor the work of employees for adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Perform pipe testing and document the necessary paperwork.
  • Read and fully understand submittals, specs, and drawings.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing equipment/fixture detail per the contract drawings/specifications.
  • Understand the function of a plumbing system (DWV, DHW, DCW, DHWR, DI, Storm).
  • Create as-built drawings.
  • Working knowledge and basic understanding of the plumbing code.
  • Act as a working foreman to fit, cut, and install various piping systems (DWV, DHW, DCW, DHWR, DI, Storm).
  • Working knowledge of how to chlorinate a plumbing system.
  • Motivate and lead a team of 12 people.
  • Know and comply with company rules and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of Stratus, ACC, Blue Beam, ACC model viewer, HH2, Egnyte, and company email.
  • Follow and promote an SPC safety-first job site.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Coach and develop your team/crew.
  • Understand and enforce the OPS system (Tier zero trackers, Tier 1 boards, and ability to run/back up the Tier 1 board).
  • Lead the development plan meeting with lower-tier employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ industrial/commercial plumbing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
