Job Summary
Mckee Foods is seeking a Plumber/Boiler to join our team. The Plumber/Boiler Technician at McKee Collegedale Facilities will play a critical role in maintaining boiler and piping systems while ensuring all operations adhere to strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of maintenance and adjustment of system controls
- Routine inspections and repairs on boilers, associated equipment, and hot water systems
- Performing annual teardowns for state inspections
- Assisting with various plumbing calls and departmental projects as assigned
- Continuous technical development and flexibility to work additional hours or "on-call" shifts as needed to support facility operations
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of verifiable experience in each of the following:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing different types of high and low-pressure pipes
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and maintenance and operation manuals
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining gas-fired hot water systems
- Working at various heights using ladders & platform lifts
- Excellent interpersonal skills; team player with the willingness to work with others
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative; self-motivated
- Knowledge and proficiency with using computers
- Good safety, work & attendance record
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Able to work flexible hours and extended shifts as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years direct, hands-on experience and good working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners gas, and associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion
- Functional working knowledge of plumbing/steam maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
- Two-year degree in an industrial mechanical or vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship program
- Kemco hot water system experience
- Plumbing experience
Pay and Benefits
The starting pay is $26.78 - $32.89 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
