Plumber/Boiler Tech Floater

Job Summary

Mckee Foods is seeking a Plumber/Boiler to join our team. The Plumber/Boiler Technician at McKee Collegedale Facilities will play a critical role in maintaining boiler and piping systems while ensuring all operations adhere to strict safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of maintenance and adjustment of system controls
• Routine inspections and repairs on boilers, associated equipment, and hot water systems
• Performing annual teardowns for state inspections
• Assisting with various plumbing calls and departmental projects as assigned
• Continuous technical development and flexibility to work additional hours or "on-call" shifts as needed to support facility operations

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of verifiable experience in each of the following:
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing different types of high and low-pressure pipes
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and maintenance and operation manuals
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining gas-fired hot water systems
• Working at various heights using ladders & platform lifts
• Excellent interpersonal skills; team player with the willingness to work with others
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative; self-motivated
• Knowledge and proficiency with using computers
• Good safety, work & attendance record
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Able to work flexible hours and extended shifts as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years direct, hands-on experience and good working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners gas, and associated controls and electrical circuits, combustion
• Functional working knowledge of plumbing/steam maintenance and troubleshooting techniques
• Two-year degree in an industrial mechanical or vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship program
• Kemco hot water system experience
• Plumbing experience

Pay and Benefits

The starting pay is $26.78 - $32.89 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
