As a Plumber, you'll help maintain the critical water, heating, gas, and drainage systems that patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals depend on every day. As a Plumber, a typical day might include the following: Inspecting, installing, repairing, and replacing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures throughout the Medical Center.Maintaining critical heating, water, gas, and drainage systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.Performing preventative maintenance inspections on plumbing fixtures, piping, and associated equipment.Identifying and repairing leaks, defective pipes, and damaged plumbing components through soldering, caulking, and replacement.Repairing low-pressure steam and condensate return piping and installing pipe assemblies and plumbing fixtures as needed.Working with a variety of valves and fittings, including pressure relief, check, float, gate, globe, thermostatic valves, unions, sleeves, bushings, reducers, steam traps, and strainers.Assisting with the operation and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems.Conducting observations of general maintenance concerns and communicating issues requiring attention to the Lead Plumber or appropriate leadership.Responding to emergency plumbing needs and occasional off-hours scheduled repairs to support uninterrupted Medical Center operations.Working collaboratively with other skilled trades professionals and assisting in other maintenance disciplines as needed.Delivering timely and efficient building services that support patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.Identifying and reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions within the environment of care. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma or completion of a trade school program and 5 years of practical plumbing experience. You must also have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License. Preferred qualifications include a certified Plumber's License.
