PLUMBER
About the role
The Department of Real Estate & Asset Management seeks a skilled Plumber to join our team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving plumbing issues, installing, repairing, and renovating plumbing-related equipment and water lines.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring materials and equipment are available for use when making repairs
- Inspecting work sites for potential problems
- Installing, repairing, and renovating plumbing fixtures such as toilets, drains, and related fixtures
- Maintaining, repairing, and replacing lavatories, storm drains, water lines, waste lines, ponds, fountains, waterfalls, skimmers, pumps, fountainheads, filters, and hot water heaters
- Cutting and threading pipes and other materials
- Reading and interpreting sketches, layouts, and blueprints
- Ensuring work performed meets state and local code requirements
- Performing site cleanup when jobs are completed
- Inventorizing materials and equipment to ensure adequate supply levels
- Consulting with supervisor to discuss work assignments and priorities
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience as a plumber
- Valid Georgia driver’s license or proof of mobility equivalent
