This is a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).
About the role
Join our team! We're hiring a Plumber to install, maintain, and repair water, gas, drainage, and steam systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures under general supervision.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and specifications.
- Perform duties frequently reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
- High School diploma plus 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
- New Mexico Journeyman Plumbing License or New Mexico Journeyman Gas Fitter License, or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire.
Working Conditions
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements: extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, and other potentially dangerous materials or situations.
- Requires following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
- Considerable physical activity; physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
- Requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds.
Pay
Target hourly rate: $19.28
Schedule
Standard (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
