We are a cleantech contractor that provides comprehensive energy efficiency services for energy service companies (ESCOs) and corporate clients. Our services are delivered by six specialized units focused on weatherization, water efficiency engineering, lighting, airflow controls, HVAC, and infrastructure solutions.

About the role

The Plumber role is a hands-on position responsible for the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems for both drainage and water. You will ensure all work meets stringent quality and safety standards while adhering to project timelines and budgets. This role involves significant travel, up to 100% of the time, for projects that may last two weeks or longer. Based in the Dallas, Texas metro area, this dynamic position requires extensive travel to various job sites, often involving both driving company vehicles and air travel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair broken pipes and clogged drains
  • Install underground sanitary, drainage, and water supply piping systems
  • Conduct the layout, assembly, and installation of pipe fixtures for water systems
  • Cut pipes and transport them to project locations where they are required
  • Utilize hand tools in fitting valves, couplings, and components for tanks, pumps, or other plumbing systems
  • Dig trenches and install pipes and piping fixtures for water or sewage systems
  • Fill pipes with resin or sand to prevent distortion and ensure stability during installation
  • Immerse pipes in chemical solutions such as bleach and dispersants to remove oil, dirt, and scale
  • Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools
  • Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs
  • Liaise with contractors and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Completion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeship preferred
  • 1+ years of professional plumbing experience
  • Able to read technical designs and blueprints
  • Proficient with plumbing tools, materials, and equipment
  • Expert knowledge in piping and ventilation systems
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • OSHA 10 certification; if not certified, must be completed within 30 days of hire

Physical Demands

Plumbers may spend long hours outside and in awkward positions, which can cause physical discomfort and strain. The role includes:

  • Constant (67-100%) standing and walking
  • Frequent (34-66%) repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs over shoulder height
  • Frequent (34-66%) moving of heavy equipment
  • Frequent (34-66%) bending, squatting, and twisting
  • Frequent (34-66%) climbing and use of ladders and scaffolding
  • Exposure to sharp, hot, and/or very cold supplies and equipment
  • Potential contact with poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness
  • Requires stamina to work extended hours

Work Environment

While performing the essential functions of this position, the plumber will be subject to:

  • Both inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and humidity
  • Exposure to dusty, noisy jobsite conditions, fumes, and some chemicals
