About the role
Perform the installation, repair, assembly, and maintenance of water, sewage, drainage, air, gas, and vacuum systems and related equipment in accordance with state and local codes. Work arrangement is on-site.
Responsibilities
- Install, connect, and test plumbing fixtures such as urinals, water closets, wash basins, sinks, drinking fountains, compressed air fixtures, and gas-fired equipment like heat furnaces and processing tanks.
- Monitor and troubleshoot plumbing breakdowns by diagnosing issues and repairing, replacing, or taking corrective action as necessary.
- Determine routing of pipe and location of plumbing fixtures, accessories, and equipment by following trade practice specifications, blueprints, sketches, and codes.
- Indicate lines and points on walls, floors, ceilings, or set stakes to locate pipe routes, inlets, outlets, connections, fixtures, and equipment; prepare working sketches as required.
- Follow a predetermined preventive maintenance (PM) schedule if assigned to maintenance areas.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of experience in the installation and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Valid N.C. Driver's license and a driving history acceptable under the Safe Driving Policy.
- Experience/training in a healthcare setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one or small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees.
- Must respect the privacy of patients and maintain the confidentiality of any patient information related to their treatment.
- Ability to complete daily records, logs, and time sheets.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Occasionally required to climb ladders or stairs.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more.
Work Environment
- May occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic, or caustic chemicals. Required to attend all related safety training sessions and comply with safety guidelines.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
Pay
Anticipated annual base salary range: USD $20.90 to USD $33.54 per hour.
