PLSQL Developer

About the role

UST is seeking a PL/SQL Developer Specialist I to join our Software Engineering team. This role involves developing and maintaining Oracle database objects, optimizing SQL and PL/SQL performance, implementing bulk data processing, designing and supporting ETL processes, and troubleshooting performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Oracle database objects: Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views.
• Optimize SQL and PL/SQL performance using EXPLAIN PLAN, TKPROF, indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
• Create and optimize logical and physical data models ensuring scalability and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, deadlocks, locking problems, and refactor legacy PL/SQL code.
• Implement bulk data processing using BULK COLLECT and FORALL.
• Design and support ETL processes, batch jobs (DBMS_SCHEDULER), data migrations, and integrations.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years’ experience as a PL/SQL developer or Oracle SQL developer.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in Query optimization, execution plan analysis, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Proven expertise in performance tuning and high-volume data processing.
• Proven expertise on Bulk data processing, JSON/XML handling, LOB/CLOB management and Data Modeling.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.
• Strong hands-on Oracle database development experience.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication (written & verbal) skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

• Experience with Retail / Enterprise Applications.

• PL/SQL, Shell Scripting, Performance Tuning, Oracle APEX, Data Modeling, Jenkins, Oracle REST Data Services, ETL, Liquibase, Flyway.

Pay

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Schedule

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
